NOTD: February 18, 2015

This is such a winter / cold weather mani! Reminds me of snowflakes on ice! This is 2 coats of nails inc. Trafalgar Crescent. I used NYC Matte Me Crazy as the base and Wet N' Wild Fast Dry as the top coat.

What do you think?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Isn't this cute? This is 1 coat of Clinique Hi Sweetie with 1 coat of Julep Hartleigh - quick and cute! I used NYC Matte Me Crazy as the base and Wet N' Wild Fast Dry as the topper.

I did have to fish and place the heart glitter, but I love the holographic aspect of this glitter! Find myself just staring at my nails!

What are your plans for Valentine's Day?

Julep February Maven Box

I loved the polish colours offered for February so redeemed my points for a box!

L to R: Hazel, Brandis, Hartleigh, Glow Highlighting Powder

Here's a closer look at the highlighter

I love turquoise polish and don't have nearly enough and Hazel sounded interesting as a violet and bronze duochrome.

I have a Valentine's Day manicure planned for tomorrow using Hartleigh!

Did you opt for a February box?

NOTD: February 12, 2015

In anticipation of the pink and red overload coming on Saturday, here's an alternative to the typical pink. I really love how this turned out!

This is 1 (!) coat of Sephora Formula X A+ with 2 coats of nails inc. Old Bond Street (both from this haul). I used NYC Matte Me Crazy as the base and Wet N' Wild Fast Dry as the top coat.

Can I just rave about how beautiful A+ is? And the formula is flawless - I love me one-coaters!

What polish have you found has a perfect formula?

NOTD: February 11, 2015

This is 3 coats of Deborah Lippmann Whatever Lola Wants (from this haul). Even after 3 coats it's a bit sheer, and I still have visible nail line. I probably should've used my butter London Nail Foundation as the base, but I used NYC Matte Me Crazy with Wet N' Wild Fast Dry top coat.

This is a light nude colour, perfect for even the strictest workplaces, I almost think of colours like this as lingerie for nails!

BzzAgent Secret Outlast Clear Gel

Please note I received this product for free to try from BzzAgent. My opinion below is my own besides receiving this product for free, I was not compensated for my opinion.

Contents of my BzzKit

As readers of my blog, you've probably picked up how much I love Secret Clinical Strength antiperspirant, so I was interested to see if the regular stuff worked on me.

Let's start with my first thoughts, packaging is super cute and I'm happy to get the Ooh-La-La Lavender Scent (although I'd prefer Vanilla or fruity scents in the future!).

The gel goes on clear and stays clear, keeping my clothes free of those nasty white stains other deodorants give me - definitely a plus.

I like the scent, it's strong but not to overwhelming that it mixes with my perfumes.

But the downside is that I've noticed sweat and a bit of odour throughout the day, which is just not acceptable to me. I wear antiperspirant so that I won't sweat or smell, and this product didn't do that.
I'll use this up on days where I'm not moving around too much or with other people, but I will not go out and buy this for myself.

What deodorant or antiperspirant do you rely on to keep yourself sweat and odour free?

Another indie NOTD! This lovely polish is Love Thy Polish He Lives in You (from this haul). I used NYC Matte Me Crazy as the base, 2 coats of He Lives in You and finished with Wet N' Wild Fast Dry Top Coat.

I love this one! It's a cool toned grey with small holo glitters, and slightly bigger blue, red, and white glitter.

I bought this on sale, drawn by the colour and reasonable price (I think it was around $7.80 on Harlow & Co.) - but then I learned it was inspired by The Lion King and I loved it more! The colours are reminiscent of Rafiki to me!

Have you tried Love Thy Polish, what did you think?

January Empties!

Hey readers! Sorry I've been away from the blog, I've been sick with an awful cold, but I'm all better now, so I'll fill you in on the products I used up in January!

L to R: Neutrogena All-in-One Make-up Removing Cleansing Wipes, DKNY Be Delicious Skin, Dove Nectarine and White Ginger Scent Anti-perspirant

Neutrogena All-in-One Make-up Removing Cleansing Wipes: Same as the review in April Empties. I will continue to buy these!

DKNY Be Delicious Skin: From this haul. I love how crisp and refreshing this scent is! I definitely get notes of apple, cucumber, grapefruit, with some floral hints my nose isn't the greatest at identifying. I would maybe even buy this fragrance, as it's different from everything I own and I find it a perfect spring/summer fragrance!

Dove Nectarine and White Ginger Scent Anti-perspirant: This wasn't exactly finished, but the solid broke off the bottle and stuck in the cap, making it extremely messy to apply. I love the scent of this, but unfortunately it just isn't effective enough as an anti-perspirant for me to buy again.

L to R: Aveeno Ultra Calming Gentle Make-up Removing Wipes, Bath and Body Works Anti Bacterial Hand Gel Paris Amour

Aveeno Ultra Calming Gentle Make-up Removing Wipes: These are just as effective as the Neutrogena wipes above, but they have more of an herbal/floral scent (probably from the feverfew advertised as being included). I like this packaging better than the Neutrogena packaging, as it keeps the wipes moist throughout their life (I find Neutrogena wipes are drier the farther into the package you get). However, with that moistness I have noticed that these did slightly irritate my eyes when the liquid would get into them. I will repurchase these when they're on sale.

Bath and Body Works Anti Bacterial Hand Gel Paris Amour: BBW describes this as French tulips with pink champagne. I don't know that that's what my nose picks up, as I would've guessed there were some fruityness in there. Doesn't matter, because I love this scent! And these are the cutest hand sanitizers! Will always repurchase!

L to R: Revlon Multi Care Base+Top Coat, Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer

Revlon Multi Care Base+Top Coat: Finally! If you've been following my blog since the beginning, you'll recognize this as being in most NOTDs. There is a bit at the bottom, but it's too tiresome to try to get it out. And this is effective as neither a base or top coat, so I'm happy to move onto better products. This didn't prevent my nails from staining the way that butter London Nail Foundation does, and I found this top coat dragged on my nails causing lumpiness. Also, this took FOREVER to dry - who has time for that? Will not repurchase.

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer: From this haul. This sample got me 3 uses of this moisturizer on my face. I like the fresh citrusy scent and how hydrating it was! I liked this enough to buy the full size!

Whew. Lots of empties! What products did you use up in January?
