Julep Maven February 2014

For my February Julep Maven box I selected the Bombshell option

From L to R: Love, Kristen, Judi, Eye Sheen in Dusty Taupe Shimmer

Without the boxes:

I haven't tried any of the polish so far, but I am loving the liquid eyeshadow! This is easy to work with (I've been using my Sephora Pro Smokey Eye brush) didn't crease or fade throughout the day. I also love the shade on my hazel eyes!

NOTD: February 22, 2014

Happy Saturday! This is my first NARS polish. I started with a coat of my butter London Nail Foundation and applied two coats of NARS Disco Inferno (from this haul). You can see that my ring finger is slightly darker because those coats ended up being thicker.

I was a bit disappointed by this polish, not only does it lose the duochrome I expected from the bottle, it was quite thin and would probably need 4 coats to reach opacity. From this experience, I will only buy NARS polish on sale and definitely not for their full price of over $20.

Today's NOTD is bright blue, one of my fav nail polish shades!  This is two coats of Julep Amy and one coat of Julep Marion as the accent. I used my butter London Nail Foundation to prevent staining (these colours both stain quite badly, and the Nail Foundation stopped all staining!) and a top coat of Revlon Multi-Care Base+Top Coat.

My Valentine's Day mani is a gorgeous sparkling rose gold! This is 2 coats of butter London Rosie Lee over my butter London Nail Foundation. To smooth out the grittiness I used a top coat of Revlon Multi-Care Base+Top Coat.

I have been crazy busy at work lately, but it should settle down within the next couple of weeks.

What's on your nails for Valentine's Day?

A dark polish with just enough sparkle to make it interesting! This is two coats of Nicole by OPI Totally in the Dark (from this haul) over my Orly Top2Bottom base coat.

Although this wasn't a shade I would've picked up for myself, I found myself liking the blue and purple hints of shimmer throughout the almost black base. Definitely something different to add to my collection!

January Empties

Another month, more empties!

Sensodyne Pro-namel Gentle Whitening toothpaste: This is my favourite toothpaste, as I do sometimes have teeth sensitivities when eating candy or drinking something cold.  This doesn't have an overwhelming mint taste, and I find it pretty effective at whitening.  I have already repurchased this product to replace the empty.  Definitely recommended for those with sensitive teeth.

Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y.: I received this in my ItKit from Sephora last November and had to force myself to use it up. Too powdery and old ladyish for my taste. Will not purchase.

Yon-Ka Hydra No. 1 Serum: I received this sample at my local spa. The serum helps to hydrate dehydrated skin, it smells herbal and definitely helped my skin out. This might be a purchase.

Yon-Ka Hydra No. 1 Fluid: Same story as the serum, not sure about purchasing since I have so many moisturizers to get through, but I did like this one!

Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel in Caribbean Escape: I love BBW hand sanitizers, and this scent was one of my favs! Coconut, raspberries, definitely a yummy scent! I will repurchase once I get my hand sanitizer stash under control.

So there you have it, my empties for January.

What did you use up in January?
