NOTD: January 18, 2015

Sometimes, in the bottle 2 polish will look like a good fit, but you can't really until they're on your nails and it's too late. This is a clashy NOTD.

This is 2 coats of Sparitual Can You Dig It? with 1 coat of nails inc. Knightsbridge Road. I used NYC Matte Me Crazy as the base and Wet N' Wild Fast Dry as the top coat.

While this combo doesn't go together, I'm surprised by how much I love Can You Dig It? it's usually not a colour I like on my nails, but somehow this bronzey brown works for me.

I also loved how opaque Knightsbridge Road was!

Have you been shocked by how badly a combination looks together before?

Julep Cyber Monday Haul

Sorry these haul posts are so out-dated, December was a busy month for me. I figured better late than never!

L to R: Nancy, Jinx, Belle, Wink (Dashing Lipstick Trio)

I got all of this for $15.50 plus free shipping! I love the other Lipstick Trio I have from Julep (from the Gatsby Maven Box a few years ago) and I really like how comfortable the formula is so I couldn't resist this more neutral colour selection (Dancing was too red). And Nancy looks interesting similar to a non-matte Nora.

Did you pick up anything from Julep lately?

NOTD: January 14, 2015

I think by now you know that I love purples, especially unique ones. I definitely love this one!

This is two coats of Color Club Bell Bottom Babe over my NYC Matte Me Crazy and under Wet N' Wild FastDry top coat. I love this! It's reminiscent of Julep Kayla (which I loved enough to put on my Fav of 2014 list), but bluer and darker.

What colours are you drawn to?

NOTD: January 12, 2015

Today's mani is a long untried polish that really surprised me!

This is Sephora by OPI Never Enough Shoes (from this haul) with Julep Gianna (from this haul) on the accent. I used Orly Top2Bottom as the base and top coat, with 2 coats of Never Enough Shoes and one coat of Gianna.

This photo doesn't do Never Enough Shoes justice, so here's another attempt

This captures more of the sparkles in Never Enough Shoes's black base, here it reads mostly red but in person its bronze and a bit of green that I detect most.

I'm really liking Never Enough Shoes, despite my bias against dark nail colours. Gianna is just meh to me, nothing too special.

Which polish have surprised you recently?

Tarte Cyber Monday Haul!

Tarte had some amazing deals in it's online store on Cyber Monday, I had some gifts to pick up, and couldn't resist picking up a few things for myself!

Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in Fearless and Kiss & Belle Lipsurgence Set.

I love the Lipsurgence formula and couldn't say no to the $31 price tag!

Did you pick up anything on Cyber Monday?

My Fav NOTD from 2014

With the beginning of a new year, I thought I'd take a step back and look at my 10 favourite NOTD looks from 2014!
These are in order by age (oldest to newest)

Color Club Lady Holiday with Color Club Savoy Nights (original post). I love how well these colours paired together!

Julep Amy with Julep Marion (original post). I'm a sucker for blue / teal polish and these are 2 of my favourite in my collection.

Color Club Apollo Star with Essie Lilacism (original post). These 2 were paired together at the last minute, and I love how it turned out!

Sephora by OPI Skinny Jeans with nails inc. Soho Street (original post). I was really impressed with the formula of Skinny Jeans, and Soho Street is one of those versatile glitters.

Julep Millie with Dr.'s REMEDY Deserving Diamond (original post). To me this mani screamed class. I felt positively posh!

Sephora by OPI Your Wish is My Command with nails inc. Marylebone (original post). Your Wish is My Command is such a delicate pretty pink and Marylebone is a super attention grabbing glitter, but they worked well together!

Julep Kayla (original post). Probably one of the most interesting polish I bought in 2014, and I love purple!

nails inc. Devonshire Row with Quo by Orly My Heart is Nuclear (original post). These are both gorgeous colours that flatter my skin tone well.

nails inc. Bond Street with Julep Queen Anne (original post). A freehand attempt at nail art that turned out well!

Quo by Orly Mystic Night with Julep Margot (original post). Red and gold are meant to go together and I was impressed with the formula of both of these polish.

I think it's interesting that I don't like my more standard single colour manis as much, only choosing one single colour mani. But it is interesting the colour and finish variety in this top 10, although they are mostly lighter colours.

What was your favourite mani from 2014?

NOTD: January 7, 2015

The end of Christmas-themed NOTDs, this is KBShimmer Sugar Plum Faerie (from this haul). I used 3 coats over and under my Orly Top2Bottom coat.

I liked this non-traditional Christmas polish! Such a sparkly pretty purple!

Which Christmas polish did you wear this holiday season?

December Empties!

Another month, more products used up!

L to R: Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover, Maybelline Dream Fresh 8-in-1 Beauty Balm in Light/Medium, Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof Anti-Perspirant

Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover: Still the best makeup remover I've used, this deluxe size was picked up in this haul.

Maybelline Dream Fresh 8-in-1 Beauty Balm in Light/Medium: This BB cream has lasted me years (don't worry, expiry date is in 2015 and as a squeeze bottle I didn't have to worry about the cream being contaminated (like dip jars, gross)), I really enjoyed using this BB cream as I found it had enough coverage for my "good skin days", it did blur my pores, and it was non-drying on my skin! I typically reach for this in the summer as it also has SPF 30, but wanted to finish this up before the expiry date! Definitely one of my favourite BB creams I've tried and one of my favourite skin products! I haven't repurchased since I have a backlog of foundations, etc to use up, but I will definitely pick this up again when I've gotten through my hoard!

Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof Anti-Perspirant: same as last time (see review here). Have already repurchased!

L to R: Ducray Squanorm Shampoo, Calvin Klein Down Town

Ducray Squanorm Shampoo: still a constant favourite! See original review here.

Calvin Klein Down Town: Sample received in this haul. This fragrance is described as "modern floral woody", while this description is not appealing to my own nose, I actually liked this fragrance. Yes it was a bit more floral than I typically like but it also had a freshness to it.

Happy New Year!
